A Nice Rain

Woke up early this morning to a nice little storm ... had to record the sound ... it was soooo nice! So here it is .... along with a photo (of course) :) that has nothing to do with the storm, it's just this mom with her 2 little babies that graze in our backyard and I just love them ... you may have to look close for the 2nd baby behind her mother....

  1. It was 110 here when I landed today. I will be listening to this recording every day and trying to pretend it is raining here.

  2. We had a whoppin' storm last night--wind, rain, lightning, BIG booms of thunder. We had a total of 0.63 inches of rain within less than an hour. One crack of thunder caused Jean and me to jump about 2 ft. off the bed! As always Jean had to go into the front of the house and watch all the lightning and rain. About 4 days ago, we had 1.12 inches of rain all in an hour!! This is the first year in several that we have actually had any kind of monsoon.

  3. 110 ... yuck! I bet you were not wanting to leave Idaho. Nice to have the rain to cool things off. 1.12 inches in a hour is a lot of rain all at once ... if it did that here we'd probably lose our trail. We do get some pretty scary thunderstorms .... it's those that crack right over your head that make you jump and lose your air conditioning fan blower. Ya know those have 10 year warranties and ours was 10 years and 1 month ... so it cost us $985.00 for being 1 month out of warranty .... figures :)

  4. Jean reminded me that we had 1.32 inches of rain in an hour, not 1.12. That is the most we have ever had in the 14 years we have lived here at one time. Boy, I remember those scary thunderstorms growing up in TX and living in NC and TN as an adult.
